Do you wish the law of attraction would work for you? Whether you realize it or not, it’s already working for you. Unfortunately however, the law of attraction may be attracting the things you don’t want into your life.

This new series of posts will help you to attract prosperity in just 60 seconds, using a simple visualization.

Before you start, take a couple of moments to daydream your own personal symbol for prosperity.

Imagine yourself prosperous and happy. What images spring to mind? You may see a sun-drenched beach, a stack of money — choose any symbol which pops into your mind and makes you smile, and remember it.

Prosperity exercise

This short exercise works best if you have a timer. A kitchen timer is fine, or you can use your watch, or even a timer on your computer. (Look for “free computer timer software” online.)

Set the timer for one minute.

Close your eyes, and focus on your breathing.

As you breathe in, feel yourself light and breezy, as though you’re floating.

As you exhale, imagine yourself sinking down into the earth.

Inhale: floating up…

Exhale… sinking down…

Continue to breathe, and then bring your symbol to mind. See the beach, or a stack of money… feel happy…

When the timer dings, you’re done.

Repeat this simple 60 second law of attraction exercise several times throughout the day; it will make a real difference in your life.

How’s the law of attraction working for you? If you’re finding it hard to get results, the cause is your engrained habits of thinking, so you need to change the way you think.

This can be hugely difficult.

Here’s a metaphor which works for me — it’s helped me enormously, and it may help you too.

Look on your mind, body and spirit as a super-computer. Your super-computer has unlimited programs, and is connected to the Internet, so it can do anything you choose.

However, you need to select the programs you’ll run on your super-computer.

Your “programs” are the way you think. Just as with a computer, you need to change the programs you’re running to do different things and achieve the results you want.

But how do you change programs? Here’s how: you ask questions, and then you pay attention and listen.

1. Carry a Notebook With You for Your Questions

Most of us have lost the habit of asking questions. Usually we stop asking questions in our teen years, because we want to fit in with our peers.

When you realize that questions allow you to change programs in your super-computer and give your computer instructions (change the way you think), you’ll soon become a fan of questions.

Start carrying a notebook with you, just to record QUESTIONS. Your questions can be huge and existential: “Who am I?” and small: “What should I have for lunch?”

Write down both kinds of questions. There are no dumb questions, because you can only receive answers to questions you ask, and the answers will come from your super-computer which is your mind, body and spirit.

2. Wonder and Muse: Get Curious

When you write a question, you may feel stress, especially if it’s a question which is important: “How do I find a new job?” for example.

Lighten up. Remember, the answer will come from your super-computer — there’s no stress involved. Just wonder and muse about the question; feel curious, rather than anxious.

3. Hobbies and Exercise Free You from Your Thoughts and Let You Be Yourself

While you’re waiting for answers from your super-computer, have fun. Explore hobbies you’ve forgotten, and get new ones. When you’re enjoying yourself, you make it easier to change programs. Enjoyment and pleasure frees you from engrained mental habits.

If you’re not in the habit of exercising, start today. Even a 15-minute walk eliminates stress hormones from your system, and stops negativity.

The law of attraction can work: ask questions. Framing questions, and wondering about them, changes your thinking, and your life.

Are you using affirmations in your work with the law of attraction? Affirmations work via repetition.

You DON’T have to believe an affirmation to use it; you just have to feel it. This is challenging, but here’s how to make it easy: pretend. Before you know it, your affirmation will no longer be pretence, it will be reality.

Here’s an interesting article to help you.

How Positive Affirmation Works With The Law Of Attraction

Before I get into how affirmations affect the Law of Attraction, and what is brought into (attracted into) your life, first I’ll go what exactly affirmations are, and what a positive affirmation is. Affirmations are simply spoken words, either by you, or someone else, that are directed towards YOU, that either consciously or subconsciously affects you in some way. An example affirmation would be "I love my job and am happy to be there every morning." That is an example of a positive affirmation. The following is a negative affirmation: "I hate my job and I cannot wait until this weekend."

The more you hear an affirmation, the more it will become a reality to you, even if it is not true at first. If you truly do not enjoy your job, you’ll notice things start to change after repeating affirmations (that are positive) about it…and it might take longer depending on how untrue that affirmation is at first. Here is another example of a negative affirmation: "I don’t hate my job and I am not unhappy to be there." While that affirmation may sound positive in nature, it is a negative affirmation because of all the negative words in it (don’t, hate, not, unhappy). You must make sure to make your affirmations purely positive by eliminating all negative words and context. Instead, that affirmation could be stated as: "I love my job and I’m happy to go to work."

Because our thoughts and emotions often start with words, affirmations (whether positive or negative) have a direct connection to your thoughts and emotions, which in turn has a direct connection with what is currently being attracted into your life, whether or not you can see it yet or not. Therefore, we must consciously and actively try to block the negative affirmations that we automatically say to ourselves unknowingly, or that we are exposed to from other people. Set aside some time in the morning and the evening (and possibly the afternoon) to give yourself positive affirmations. Think about the things you do not like and give yourself positive affirmations about those things, and try not to evoke any bad emotions regarding those things.

Thinking negatively will cause us to subconsciously and unknowingly give ourselves negative affirmations, which serve to attract the very things we want to avoid. This is why your positive affirmation is so important. If you are serious about using the Law of Attraction to achieve what you want in life, it is very important to make positive affirmations part of your day. It is not difficult, it is not complicated, and it isn’t asking for much; but it is just one of the essential ingredients to taking full advantage of the Law of Attraction to attract the things you want, not the things you do not want.
